    • Description: The figure of a man known as a Canner represents Biglerville High School and the town, which have a long history of fruit growing and canning, making the nickname "Canners" a nod to this significant aspect of the local economy and heritage.
    • Opinion: The vintage character with basic lettering across the chest and on the can represent Biglerville High School, paying homage to the town's canning history.

  • Cranberry Area High School Berries (Seneca, PA)
    • Description: The berry with human characteristics stands as the mascot for Cranberry Area High School due to the region's historical association with cranberry farming and the area's well-known cranberry bogs and production.
    • Opinion: For a community that embraces cranberry farms, the Cranberry Area High School Berries have the perfect logo, featuring a fierce berry character decked out in CHS shirts, shorts, and shoes as the face of the school.

  • North East High School Grape Pickers (North East, PA) 
    • Description: The North East High School Grape Pickers logo features a small grape as a mascot dressed in a Spartan costume, representing the school and community renowned for their vineyards and grape production.
    • Opinion: The combination of the Grape Pickers name for North East High School and its logo of a grape dressed in a Spartan-style helmet, sword, shield, gloves, and boots creates not only one of the top five logos in Pennsylvania but potentially the entire country.


  • William Allen High School Canaries (Allentown, PA)
    • Description: The yellow canary became the William Allen High School mascot after the creation of the literary magazine "The Canary and Blue," with the vintage logo of a cartoon bird standing mightily capturing one of the school's colors.
    • Opinion: Typically, canaries are known for their pleasant and melodic singing, but William Allen High School makes the canary seem intimidating with its mascot's logo and vintage design.


  • Williamsport Area High School Millionaires (Williamsport, PA)
    • Description: The emblem of Williamsport Area High School Millionaires, with a top hat, cane, and white gloves, reflects the school's nickname and Williamsport's wealth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
    • Opinion: Williamsport Area High School, located in the town known as the birthplace of the Little League World Series, has the nickname "Millionaires" and a classy, clean-looking logo that symbolizes the area's historical wealth.

Honorable Mentions

A majority of high schools in America have generic mascot names. However, in Pennsylvania, many schools have creative and original nicknames based on the school's location, history, name, or other factors. The honorable mentions for Pennsylvania that just missed the top five all have nicknames and logos based on the actual school name.
